Included in this bulletin is an insert announcing dates of the final weekend Masses at St. Bernard parish, Corning (October 14) and Church of the Atonement parish, Crooksville (October 28). Both Masses are scheduled for 4:00 p.m. with our Bishop, Earl Fernandes, as the main celebrant. We have scheduled Town Hall meetings for both parishes, the first to be held at the Church of the Atonement Parish Hall at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 27, and the second at St. Bernard Social Hall at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 31. The substance of each meeting will essentially be the same concerning both parishes, so you may consider which one to attend. I would like to let you know that as of this time, there are no immediate plans to change either Church building. So, while Weekend Mass will no longer be offered after the October dates at Church of the Atonement and St. Bernard, the Church buildings will, for the near future, remain available for devotional prayer, Weddings, Baptisms, and Funeral Masses. Thank you in advance for your prayers, since this is, in a way, uncharted territory for me as your pastor. I’m also thankful for the input and concerns of all four parish councils. Lastly, I’m grateful that there will be a team of parishioners with certain skills and expertise to assist as a parish transition team. As the Real Presence, Real Future changes begin to take place in our Consortium and throughout the Diocese,

Seminarian prayer cards will be available in the back of our Churches: Consider picking one up and having your family pray together (at least 3 Hail Marys a day or the Memorare) during this month for our seminarians and vocations to the priesthood.
