Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay organization, leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who are needy and suffering in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frédéric Ozanam, and patron, St. Vincent de Paul.
As a reflection of the whole family of God, members, who are known as Vincentians, are drawn from every ethnic and cultural background, age group, and economic level. Vincentians are united in an international society of charity by their spirit of poverty, humility and sharing, which is nourished by prayer and reflection, mutually supportive gatherings and adherence to a basic Rule.
Organized locally, Vincentians witness God's love by embracing all works of charity and justice. The Society collaborates with other people of good will in relieving need and addressing its causes, making no distinction in those served because, in them, Vincentians see the face of Christ.
The Perry County Consortium's St. Vincent de Paul Chapter meets the third Wednesday of the month 6:30 pm in the library of St. Rose School. If you are interested in joining, volunteering, or just need more information on the organization. Please contact the person below.

Once again, members of the Perry County St. Vincent DePaul Society are asking for food donations to distribute Thanksgiving dinners to needy families in the area. Families are selected by Perry County Children’s Services, Southern Local School and our center in Corning. There will be a list of food items needed for the dinners in the back of each church. The list will also be available on the Consortium Website: www.strosepcc.org. Please bring your food collected in a bag or box and leave items in the back of your church. Each dinner will provide food for a family of four. We will collect the food on the weekend of November 19-20. St. Vincent DePaul will supply the turkeys for the dinners. If you are unable to assemble the bag of groceries and would like to help with this project, monetary donations or store gift cards are always appreciated to help purchase the turkeys and any other food items needed. Providing a Thanksgiving Day meal for those less fortunate has been a tradition for many years and those we serve are truly grateful for all that you give. We could not do this without your support. God bless you and thank you for your continued generosity!
THE PERRY COUNTY ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY would like to thank the parishioners of our Consortium for your support of St. Vincent’s.This past year has been a challenge for so many, and yet our Parish families have continued to support our effortsto help those less fortunate in the county. Your generosity has been a blessing and we so appreciate the food and monetary donations that you contributed in 2020. While our Center has been closed for clothing since March, we have continued to provide food every Tuesday by drive-through. In 2020, we distributed food to 1,907 households for a total of 4,661 people in those households. In addition, we served over 80 families with Thanksgiving dinners and helped 139 families with rent, utilities and other needs. The hours to receive food are Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Anyone living in Perry County are welcome and no financial eligibility is required. If you need transportation to pick up food, the Perry CountyTransit continues to offer free rides for essential needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. To take advantage of this offer, call the Transit at 740-342-2810. A 24-hour notice is required. In 2020, we partnered with Bottoms Up in Lancaster, Ohio to provide free diapers when families pick up food on Tuesdays at the Center. Bottoms Up is a nonprofit organization that has provided more than 570,000 diapers to over 70 food pantries and child care facilities in Central and Southeast Ohio. We are very blessed to be a recipient of these diapers at no cost to St.Vincent’s. Ifyou would like to make a taxdeductible donation to this worthy cause, visit their website at www. bottomsup.life. Again, thank you foryourcontributionsto St.Vincent de Paul.May God blessyou and keep you safe and healthy during these trying times!
